Asiea Naqash, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here.Ms. Naqash briefed the Governor about the functioning of the Departments under her charge and the steps being taken by the Urban Development Department for improving basic infrastructure facilities in the cities and towns of the State and the to-date implementation status of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the departments under her charge. She also informed the Governor about the important elements of the Srinagar Master Plan and the steps underway for ensuring better healthcare facilities in the State.Governor advised Ms. Naqash to ensure effective implementation of steps to secure decongestion in the cities, removal of encroachments and strict adherence to building bye-laws for maintaining a satisfactory environment in the towns and cities. Governor observed that unless the Master Plans and Building Bye-Laws were not strictly enforced the natural beauty of the Valley has the risk of being wiped out in the coming years.
