Paying tributes to the slain youth Basharat Ahmad Sheikh and Aijaz Ahmad of Sopor encounter, Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Friday said that “our youth lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation, putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end.”Geelani as per the statement issued to KNS while blaming India for ‘its rigid and stubborn approach’, said that “their insensitivity and unconcern is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed. Youth have no option but to resent this age-old slavery and take arms to defend their rights.” “Their sacrifices won’t go waste,” Geelani said, adding that “our sacrifices and struggle will bear positive results.”He said that this arrogance, haughtiness and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and India must come to terms with the writing on the wall.“The world forums, who stand witness to our dispute and even top Indian leadership pledged to ascertain the aspirations of people through right to self-determination, however India later denied and with its military might is continuing its forced occupation and trampling all our basic rights,” said Geelani.

“Freedom movement is obligatory likewise that of prayers,” said Geelani and stressed people to illustrate steadfastness and persistence while following freedom struggle.Geelani said that it is very disheartening and sad that we are counting dead corpses of our youngsters and as such we are duty bound to follow their mission with sincerity and commitment.Lashing out at Jan Sangh rulers in Delhi, Geelani said that “their fanatical ideology is pointless and they won’t deter us from pursuing our mission nor we will surrender.”Lamenting authorities for inflicting brutalities, Geelani said that India has responded ruthlessly and beastly without giving an ear to our aspirations. He said that “this arrogance, haughtiness and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and India has to come to terms with the writing on the wall.”Geelani said that “Indian authorities need to understand that Kashmir is a recognized dispute and it will remain till it is resolved as per aspirations of people lest this unresolved and unaddressed issue can prove a sore and India will cease its forced grip over occupied state.” (KNS)
