The Special Task Force of Punjab police today recovered 5 KGS heroine in the area of DT Mal from across the fence at the Indo-Pak Border from Gurmej Singh @ Geja ex-Sarpanch of village Rahella Hazi and Partap Singh @ Tittu of village Bhambha Hazzi both from district Ferozepur. In this regard a Case under FIR No. 110, dated 30.05.2017 u/s 22/25/27-A, 28/29/30/ 61/85, NDPS Act, PS Meharbaan, district Ludhiana has been registered against the accused.Disclosing this a Spokesman of STF said during the course of investigation the accused also divulged that they have links with smugglers based in Pakistan with whom they had consistent conversations and conspired for this smuggling. A Sim card of Pakistan based company "Jeong" has also been recovered from the accused and it is suspected to be used for coordinating smuggling activities with Pakistan based smugglers.He informed that further investigation in this case is under progress with leads obtained regarding other major drug traffickers and the entire network would be unearthed.The Spokesman further said in the drive against drugs and as a result of operations carried out by the STF, a total recovery of 15.5 Kgs heroin has been made alongwith the arrest of a number of drug traffickers till date.
