MLA flags off rally to mark conclusion of Swachhta Saptah

The Swachhata week organised by the Rural Development Department to create awareness among the general public regarding ill effects of polythene use besides importance of a clean environment concluded here today.The programme started with flagging off a huge rally of school children carrying banners depicting disadvantages and hazardous effects of polythene use which after passing through the town culminated at HSS boys. Around 2000 students from GHSS Boys Doda, GHSS girls Doda, Green Model HSS Doda and Shaheen public school HSS Doda participated in the event. Besides rally, a debate and a painting competition was also organised on the theme "to save Human life and ecology".MLA Shakti Raj Parihar, who was chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the need of avoiding use of polythene bags which not only destroys the environment but poses a serious threat towards human health.Deputy Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, who also spoke on the occasion and urged upon the people to participate in large numbers in such campaigns to make the district pollution free.
