Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid today inaugurated state of art auditorium at Police Hospital Srinagar. The high-tech auditorium is connected with the operation theatres, and is having a seating capacity of more than 100 persons at one time. The auditorium will be used for demonstration of surgeries and procedures allowing doctors and para-medical staff to acquaint with the latest techniques in medical field during seminars and workshops.Speaking on the occasion, Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid said that as healthcare facilitates for the police personnel is high on our priority, all possible help will be given to the police hospitals at Srinagar and Jammu to provide better facilities to police personnel and their families.Complimenting the doctors for conducting various types of surgeries and procedures successfully at Police Hospital Srinagar, DGP said that more attention will be given to remove bottle necks in providing the much needed funds and manpower to the police hospitals. He disclosed that a modular operation theatre will also be provided to the hospital, as was demanded during the programme.
Expressing satisfaction over the functioning of Police Hospital Srinagar, DGP said that the staff particularly the doctors are assets with the police department. He said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that all gadgets provided by the PHQ from time to time are being put to optimum use. He impressed upon the Medical Superintendent to organise and conduct more and more workshops and training sessions for para-medicos to gain more and more competence in their respective fields.Earlier, Medical Superintendent Dr. Bilal Raja gave a detailed presentation regarding the services being provided by the hospital to the police personnel and their families. He said that the newly furnished auditorium and special operation theatres will be of great help in providing hassle free medical facilities to police personnel.A live demonstration of two operations conducted by surgeon Dr. Irshad Kuchay and Dr. Sheikh Farooq from two different operation theatres was also held. DGP also interacted with the doctors in operation theatre on the occasion during these procedures.Among others Chairperson Police Wives Welfare Association Mrs. Bharti Vaid, ADGP Headquarters V.K Singh, ADGP Security Dilbag Singh IGsP AG Mir, Muneer Ahmad Khan, Jagjit Kumar, Mubarak Ganaie, DIG CKR Ghulam Hassan Bhat and a galaxy of police officers and doctors was present.
