Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik Wednesday said that the ‘fascist forces’ can be defeated by the collective resistance. While addressing a gathering in a seminar tilled ‘Resolution of Kashmir Dispute- Prelude to peace, Guarantee to stability’, the JKLF chief said, “New Delhi is following fascist ideology and there is a need to defeat them by the strong collective strong resistance,” Malik said. The seminar was organized on the anniversary of ‘Shaheed-e-Millat’, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and ‘Shaheed-e-Hurriyat’, Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone. However, the Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Hurriyat (M) media advisor, Shahid-ul-Islam were disallowed to participate in the seminar as Geelani continued to remain under house detention while Mirwaiz and Islam were placed under house detention at their residences ahead of the seminar. The members from all the factions of Hurriyat on behalf of their amalgams participated in the seminar.Malik according to KNS correspondent while addressing a gathering said that the present regime is trying to create fear among the people and are using ‘brute tactics’ to muzzle the voice of Kashmiris. “The talks with the fascist forces won’t yield any result as they are only interested in killing Kashmiris,” Malik added. He said that since they assumed the chair, they raised several controversial issues including Pandit, Sainik colonies and others. “The fascist force is using tactics to divide the people but we must not fell into the prey,” he added.

Malik said that the state government is directly responsible for the youth picking up arms. “The atrocities being committed on the youth in Kashmir is the reason behind the youth joining armed resistance,” he said.According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, he said that besides committing atrocities on the youth, the youth are being harassed by one way or another thereby pushing them to pick up the arms. While condemning the house detention of Geelani and Mirwaiz, Malik said that the officials in an interview with a newspaper have claimed that no restriction has been imposed on the movement of Hurriyat leaders but at the same time, the political activities of the leaders have been choked.“History stands testimony to the fact that people from nowhere have been suppressed due to the military might,” he said.Appealing people to remain united, Malik said, “There is a need to follow the leadership in letter and spirit to defeat the fascist forces. There can be mistakes but we should not get disappoint and should continue to resist jointly,” Malik appealed. Meanwhile, former Hurriyat chairman and president of Muslim Conference, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat also spoke on the occasion and said that “the oneness is a call of time”.He as per KNS correspondent said that “there is need to remain unite and this is the only way to press for our rights.”Bhat said that dialogue is the only way to resolve the Kashmir issue.

“The war is no solution to the resolution of Kashmir issue but it can be resolved through a peaceful dialogue process,” he said.He said that the resolution of Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of Kashmiris can sustain peace not in South Asia but across the globe. “The attention of the world community is towards the Kashmir issue while America and China, the two powerful countries are deeply involved in the Kashmir issue. Though India and Pakistan is in a state of war but the issue can only be resolved through a dialogue,” Bhat added.Prof Bhat said that the development in the two neighbouring countries is a distant dream until the Kashmir issue is resolved.Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) senior leader, Raja Mehraj-ud-din Kalwal while speaking to the gathering said that the Kashmiris don’t feel happy when any Indian trooper including Army, CRPF and Policeman is killed here. “It is India who is responsible for the killing of their own troopers. We don’t want unstable situation as we want peace. The Indian claims over peace has proven hoax on the ground,” he said. The slogans of ‘Goli nahi boli’ have proven a cruel joke as the people of Kashmir are suffering ‘worst kind of state terrorism’, he said while condemning the killings in Kashmir.

As per KNS correspondent, he said that peace cannot be achieved until the Kashmir issue is resolved. “India must change their mind and attitude and should resolve the Kashmir issue according to the will of people,” he added.Calling for unity, Kalwal said that the leaders have joined their hands while the people are also following them in letter and spirit to achieve the goal of right to Self-Determination.The senior Hurriyat leader, Masroor Abbas Ansari while paying tributes to the martyrs said that over one lakh Kashmiris have sacrificed their lives for Islam and Kashmir cause.“If India really wants peace then why don’t they resolve the Kashmir issue,” he said, adding that so far the Kashmiris have witnessed several Jallianwala Bagh.Kashmir issue is not a bi-lateral issue and any resolution without the involvement of Kashmiris is unacceptable. The other leaders from different amalgams also spoke in the seminar.
