The Punjab vigilance bureau (VB) on Saturday caught a junior engineer (JE) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 9000 from a farmer. Giving details, a spokesman said that the complainant, Gurtej Singh of village Nihalgarh, Tehsil Dhirba, District Sangrur had paid government fees for tubewell connection to PSPCL, but Munish Kumar, J.E. of PSPCL, Patran, District Patiala was demanding Rs 15,000 as bribe for providing equipments to install the connection. The deal was fixed at Rs 9000 and on the complaint of Gurtej Singh, a team of Vigilance Bureau, Patiala caught Munish Kumar, J.E. red handed while receiving bribe of Rs. 9000. The case was registered at the Patiala VB police station.
