Vigilance Bureau, Punjab has redressed all the complaints pertaining to wheat procurement; it had received on its toll free number 1800-1800-1000 during current season. VB headquarter registered total 31 complaints regarding wheat procurement out of which 10 complaints were pertaining to lifting process. Giving a brief account of complaints received by Vigilance bureau on its toll free number, Chief Director Vigilance Mr. B. K. Uppal said that VB has received 10 complaints regarding lifting of crop, 6 regarding excess measurement of crop, 5 regarding shortage of Bardana, 3 complaints each regarding payment of crop and auction of crop, and 1 each regarding purchase of crop by commission agents at lower rates and selling further to government at higher rate, demand of money by procurement agencies of Government, mixing of old crop of last year with stock of new crop while storing in rack of godowns, and unloading of crop.Mr. Uppal said that all these grievances mostly reported by farmers and Aarthias (Commission agents) during peak wheat procurement season have been got redressed to their satisfaction with the intervention of field officers of the Vigilance Bureau.Meanwhile, Mr. G Nageshwara Rao, Director Vigilance said that VB has launched a mission against corrupt officials on the instructions of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. He assured the people of the state that VB would take immediate action on all complaints it would receive on its toll free number 1800-1800-1000. He appealed all the vigil citizens of the state to help and coordinate with vigilance bureau to end corruption in the state.
