Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology Ch Lal Singh today stressed upon government departments to maintain  close coordination to provide efficient services at the door steps of people.The Minister was speaking at a public grievance redressal camp here today in presence of officers of various departments of district Kathua.Huge gathering of people from Hiranagar, Billawar, Basholi and Kathua attended the camp and briefed the Minister about the problems. They demanded augmentation of water supply, improvement of power infrastructure, upgrading of roads, provision of old age and widow pension deserving persons.The people also hailed the efforts of Forest Minister for notifying the villages of Kathua District where felling of Khair tree has been permitted thus addressing the long pending demand of farmers.While responding to their demands, the Minister said that all their issues shall be resolved in due course of time after taking up the same with concerned officers.

He urged upon the officials and officers of various departments to put in extra efforts for solving the public grievances and timely completion of sanctioned developmental projects. He assured that the development  scenario of  the Kathua district is all set to witness a turn around  with the completion of numerous projects started in different areas. He further directed the officers from PHE and PDD department to work in coordination to provide un-interrupted power and water supply to the people in prevailing hot weather conditions.The Minister asked the people to come forward and avail the maximum benefits of various central as well as state welfare schemes and programmes. “The schemes offered by different departments have tremendous potential of changing the socio economic profile of the people”, he added. He further motivated the youth to try their hands in sectors like Horticulture, Fisheries, Agriculture, Sericulture, Composite Farming and other opportunities provided under different self-employment schemes.Terming inclusive growth as the priority of the government, the Minister said that focus is being laid to extend benefits of development to each and every corner of the state. “The government is committed to create such an environment where every citizen will get a level playing field for growth”, he added.CCF Jammu, MD SFC, Director SFRI, CF East-Jammu, Member Secretary SPCB ,ACD, ACR, CEO, CEO MC Kathua, XENs, AEEs besides HODs of other wings of Forest Department were present during the grievance redressal camp.
