Chief Secretary, Mr. B.B.Vyas Thursday visited district headquarter Budgam and held extensive interaction with the officers.Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Mr. Baseer Ahmad Khan and other senior officers accompanied the Chief Secretary.Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of key developmental projects in various sectors and the implementation of different social security schemes including those related to girl child.Chief Secretary also reviewed progress in regard to the implementation of the decisions taken in the previous District Development Board meetings and various commitments of the Chief Minister besides District Annual Plan and Credit Plan.While calling for enhanced synergy and convergence between the activities of various departments for achieving the desired results, Chief Secretary stressed upon prioritization of works in each sector for their completion within the fixed timeline. He asked the district administration to set out targets to give impetus to poultry, milk,  fisheries, handicrafts and other sectors, so that the rich potential available in the district in these sectors is optimally tapped for the benefit of the people. 

Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of ongoing dredging work in the Budgam stretch of river Jhelum with explicit directions to the district administration to redouble their efforts and fix individual responsibilities to ensure time bound completion of the dredging work.  He issued directions for removing bottlenecks in timely completion of various projects under execution in the district and directed all the departments to start online monitoring of developmental works including third party monitoring alongwith regular uploading of photographs/ visuals. Chief Secretary stressed on mass outreach by organizing regular interactions with people, delivering of public services as per the timelines fixed under various Acts, punctuality of staff in all the offices by introducing the Bio-metric attendance system and cautioned the officers against complacency and administrative inefficiency.Later, Chief Secretary visited Chrar-i-Sharief and inspected ongoing works under execution at the Shrine and also interacted with the local people.
