Huge potholes on the stretch give tough time to the commuters, while bumpy ride on this road leads to bad driving experience,” the local commuters said.Locals said that the worse condition of the road is a continuous agony for commuters. They alleged district administration of improper approach towards the area, which according to them has resulted in non-development of the district headquarter. “Due to bad condition of road and lack of proper drainage system, the commuters are facing problems,” they added.Inhabitants said the bad condition of roads become a nuisance especially during rains. They said roads like Kupwara-Kalarooch, Chokibal-Tangdar Road, Lolab, Kupwara-Halmatpora, Kupwara-Nagri, Muqaam Shawali , Kupwara-Trehgam, Kupwara-Srinagar Highway, Kulangam- Handwara and other link roads in main town Kupwara were in bad condition and administration is not paying any attention over it.

We don't understand why nobody is bothered about the pathetic condition of the road. “Half year has passed and R&B department is playing hide and seek game he also added that the dilapidated roads have made us accident prone and appealed to the authorities to look into their grievances and take steps for their early redressed.”Despite repeated attempts, Exen Roads and Building (R&B) department Kupwara couldn’t get comments as he didn’t receive the calls.
