Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri organized Fashion Show at its campus. The event was attended by fashion designers Neha and Honey Sekho of London Fashion Week fame. Other Designers including Bhumika Sharma, Sukhpreet, Simranjit Kaur and model Inder Pal Virk.  Mohd. Nazim &  Sabby Suri Lead actors of latest film  “Big Daddy” along with its director Imran Sheikh, Punjabi film producer Gurnam Sidhu and Sachin Rishi who has acted in more than 400 Punjabi & Hindi movies also grace the occasion . Young singing sensations Simargill and Anayat Dhillon made the entire audience tap the floor continuously with their feet over their melodious songs.The Fashion Show was unique in the sense that all the dresses used during the show were designed by the students themselves. The clothing of the dresses was based on four different themes Recycling, Phulkari, Zaharat and Surface Ornamentation. The collection titled Recycling represented the use of waste material to design the dresses. 

The teams used textured Jute to create Gown, Jacket. In the Phulkari Collection students used Phulkari work to produce fine modern dresses .Zaharat was inspired by tradition of Middle East. Students used fabrics like Chiffon  and Georget, with the  vibrant colors like Yellow, Pink and Green, to create dresses like Upper Top with Boat Neck, A line Skirts with Dupatta, and Safety Pin Jackets. In surface ornamentation used the Denim and embroidery to form beautiful dresses.Winners of this Grand Fashion Show were Rishani for Best Dress and Arushi & Megha Unique Idea. Gagandeep & Amanat  were honoured with  Creativity Award whereas  Sumit & Akriti excelled in  Best Design. Jitender & Sanah won  Best Concept award and  Sukhpreet & Jaspreet  won  Upcoming Design.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that the students have shown exemplary originality in designing their dresses. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General said that the students of Fashion technology have an extremely bright future  due to high demand of this professionals in this profession .
