Traffic route plan issued for Mairaj-ul-Alam

In connection with the celebrations of Mairaj-ula-Alam falling on April 24/25, 2017 with the following Friday on April 28, the Traffic Police Department has issued a detailed route plan for vehicles carrying devotees to the Holy Shrine at Hazratbal, where large gatherings of devotees throng for offering prayers and receiving blessings.The route plan also includes a return route plan for North, South and Central-bound vehicles and an elaborate plan for car parking available around the Hazratbal Shrine.Vehicles carrying devotees coming from North Kashmir after reaching Shaltang shall adopt the following route to reach the Hazratbal Shrine: Shaltang – Parimpora - Qamarwari – Cement Bridge – Noorbagh – Sekidafar – Eidgah – Alimasjid – Sazgaripora – Hawal - Alamgari Bazar - Mill Stop - Molvi Stop (Lal Bazaar) - Botshah Mohallah – Kanitar - University Parking from Sir Syed Gate, and those coming from South Kashmir after reaching Pantha Chowk shall adopt this route: Pantha Chowk - Stone Quarry (Athawajan) – Batwara - Sonwar Bazar - Ram Munshi Bagh - Gupkar - Grand Palace - Zethyar Ghat – Nishat - Foreshore Road – Habak Crossing – Naseem Bagh Parking.

Whereas vehicles from Central Kashmir shall follow separate route plans designated for Budgam, Ganderbal and Lal Chowk (Srinagar). The vehicles coming from Budgam and adjoining areas shall adopt the following route to reach Hazratbal Shrine: Hyderpora – Tangpora – Bemina Bye Pass – Bemina Crossing – Qamarwari – Cement Bridge -Noorbagh – Sekidafar – Eidgah – Alimasjid – Sazgaripora – Hawal - Alamgari Bazar - Mill Stop - Molvi Stop (Lal Bazaar) - Botshah Mohallah – Kanitar – NIT Parking, and those coming from Ganderbal shall follow this route: Nagbal – Zakoora – Habbak – Naseem Bagh Parking. Whereas those vehicles coming from Lal Chowk (Srinagar) shall follow Lal Chowk - SRTC Bridge - Ikhwan Crossing - Police Station Khanyar - Bhori Kadal - Rajouri Kadal - Gojwari Chowk -  Hawal - Alamgari Bazar - Mill Stop - Molvi Stop (Lal Bazaar) - Botshah Mohallah – Kanitar - NIT Parking.

The route plan also includes Return Routes Plan. The North Kashmir bound vehicles on return from Hazratbal Shrine shall adopt Sir Syed Parking - Aishahibgh Crossing – Rainawari – Khanyar - Nowpora – Dalgate – M.A. Road – Budshah Bridge – Over Flyover – Batmaloo - Mominabad - Tangpora - Bemina Byepass – Parimpora - Shalteng – onwards, and the South Kashmir bound vehicles shall adopt the following return routes: Naseem Bagh Parking – Habbak Crossing – Foreshore Road – Nishat – Zethiyar Ghat – Gupkar – Ram Munshi Bagh – Sonwar Bazar – Pantha Chowk – onwards.Whereas the vehicles bound for Central Kashmir areas on return from Hazratbal Shrine shall adopt separate return routes. Those that are Budgam bound shall follow NIT – Aishahi Bagh Crossing – Rainawari – Khanyar – Nowpora – Dalgate – Golf Crossing – Radio Kashmir – Abdullah Bridge – Hatric – Convent Crossing – Police Station Rajbagh – Jawhar Nagar Chowk – Jawhar Nagar Bund – Rambagh – Barzullah Bridge – Sadder – Hyderpora – onwards, and those that are Ganderbal Bound shall adopt Naseem Bagh Parking – Habbak – Zakoora – Nagbal – and onwards. Those that are Lal Chowk bound shall adopt the following return route plan: NIT Parking – Aishahibagh Crossing – Rainwari – Khanyar -  Nowpora Bridge – Khayam Chowk – Dalgate – M.A Road – Lal Chowk.

With regard to the parking plan, separate parking arrangements have been made at available locations around the Hazratbal Shrine for vehicles from North, South and Central Kashmir. Those vehicles from North Kashmir shall park inside University Campus from Sir Syed Gate side, and vehicles from South Kashmir shall Park inside Naseem Bagh University Campus through Budshah gate from Habbak, whereas those vehicles from Central Kashmir shall park inside National Institute of Technology (NIT) Campus Hazratbal.The Traffic Camp at Hazratbal (VIP Parking) has been restricted for official vehicles only.The devotees have been appealed to drive through the prescribed route only, board/de-board buses at designated bus stops, park vehicles at earmarked spaces only, drive with patience & follow lane driving and avoid road rage.
