Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Advisor to Chief Minister on Thursday visited the SPS Museum at Lal Mandi here.Prof Mattoo visited various galleries and took keen interest in the artifacts of Archaeology, Numismatic and Decorative Arts and appreciated the department   for proper maintenance of the museum objects.The Curator of the museum apprized the Advisor about museum collections and pace of work on the designing of the music interiors.The Advisor was told that the museum in its numismatic gallery housed record collections of ancient coins of Gold, Silver and Copper which are estimated  to be more than 70, 000. Prof Mattoo also took keen interest in the terracotta and stone   sculptures of the archaeology gallery. He was delighted to see terracotta Shunk, which was discovered few years back during the excavations undertaken at Letpura Pulwama.Prof Mattoo assured the authorities of full government support in timely completion of the pending work adding that Chief Minister would be apprised about the same.
