Integrated Digestive Liver and Cancer Centre  support group was organised at Columbia Asia Referral Hospital, Yeshwanthpur on 15th April from 10 am to 11 am to focus on patients affected by cancers of the liver, oesophagus, stomach, pancreas and gastrointestinal tract. This provided an opportunity for new, current and old patients to use peer help and exchange their ideas as they get cured."I am honoured to say that our team of doctors follow international standards and function at par with well-known centres around the world. The satisfaction of our patients is a testament to the care we provide and the compassion with which we treat our patients. While we are innovative in our treatment protocols, we are also cautious to recommend therapies that are evidence based and proven," said Dr. Govind Nandakumar Jairam, Chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Bangalore.Cancer care is best delivered when it is done as a team effort including doctors and patients. Therefore, we organise weekly care planning meetings at our institution to make sure that the treatment decisions are based on evidence and planning” he added.
