A slew of awareness programmes were held across the district to promote digital payments and cashless transactions among the people.The main event was organised at Devika Ghat where awareness programmes were organized by the Information department and Field Publicity Unit , Udhampur to sensitise the people . Besides this, speakers from various banks also threw light on the benefits of cashless transactions.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa was the chief guest on the occasion District Information Center, Udhampur in collaboration with Lead Bank also installed LED TVs for screening of the live telecast of PM’s address from the 100th and the last mela of this series at Nagpur.Similar programs were organised at different blocks, Panchayats and schools of the district with an objective to spread awareness about cashless economy among the common masses besides observing the 126th birth anniversary of the Dr B.R.Ambedkar Among others, ACR Subhash Chander Dogra, ACD Om Prakash, GM DIC Angrez Singh, DPO Sandeep Seointra, DSWO Rachna Sharma, DIO Esha Chib besides other district officers attended the mela.
