With the aim to sensitize people regarding cashless transactions, Digi Dhan Melas were organised all across the district today.Programmes at panchayat, block and tehsil level were organised to make people aware of digital transactions its essence and uses to curb black money.People were given live demonstrations by joint teams of representatives from banks, concerned department and agencies on various modes of cashless transactions.Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar informed that the district administration has planned a slew of activities to create awareness among people about digital transactions. He appealed people to use mobile apps like UPI, USSD, mobile banking, e banking and e wallet which are easiest and safe means to transfer money. He also appealed people to adopt and encourage others for digital transactions and to link their adhaar and mobile numbers with the bank accounts.The Deputy Commissioner informed that mass awareness is being created about digital transactions through stalls, lectures and display of POS machines etc during the Baisakhi Mela Billawar .The arrangements for live screening of the launch of BHIM app by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also made at panchayat and block levels across the district.
