The Congress-BJP syndicate "undemocratically and forcibly pided" Andhra Pradesh and they are trying to sell the country, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Tuesday."Congress and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) have formed a syndicate. They shaped a secret deal to get political mileage. The syndicate undemocratically and forcibly bifurcated Andhra Pradesh," Banerjee said while addressing a public gathering here."People have to save the country from the clutches of Congress-BJP syndicate, otherwise they would sell the country. CPI-M is also with the Congress to serve their political interest."

Banerjee, also the Trinamool Congress supremo, urged the people to vote for her party to form a government at the centre, and stressed that she has started her election campaign from the Left Front-ruled Tripura.

Banerjee came here five months after several top Congress leaders, including Surajit Datta, Ratan Chakraborty and Jawar Saha, all former ministers, broke away from the party and set up the Trinamool's Tripura unit.Several hundred local leaders, members and workers of the Congress have subsequently joined the Trinamool.Banerjee announced that her party would put up candidates in the two Lok Sabha seats in Tripura and in most constituencies of northeastern states, specially in Assam, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh."There is no water, there is no electricity in most parts of Tripura. People are starving, but he is flying various parts of India. Also giving lecture in Bengal too," Banerjee said without naming Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar."I can send industrialists and artists for the development of Tripura. When I was railway minister, I have sanctioned railways in Tripura. They (CPI-M) created obstacle in expanding railways," she added."They (CPI-M) know only action and violence, they do not know how to work for the people," Banerjee said, adding that the CPI-M MPs did nothing in parliament in last 37 years.Banerjee, accompanied by party general secretary Mukul Roy and other leaders, left for Assam after the Agartala rally to initiate election campaign there.
