Terming the recent poll boycott as people’s verdict and writing on the wall for New Delhi and the local pro-Indian political parties, senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front, chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan Wednesday said that India has planned to revenge the people of Budgam in the garb of re-poll.In a statement issued to KNS, Khan said, “India wants to harm the Kashmiri people economically.”Khan said that after facing befitting reply at the hands of Kashmiri people during recently held elections, New Delhi and the local pro-Indian political parties have decided to revenge the people of Budgam for their courageous resilience and resistance. “So, New Delhi and the state government agents have announced a re-poll in the district,” he added. He however said that India will face another humiliating defeat at the hands of Budgam people.Khan said that New Delhi is trying to create an environment which could hit the local economy so that the freedom loving people of Kashmir are made to surrender.

He said that this imperialistic tool has already been used against the people of Kashmir time and again and they are familiar about such ‘tactics of oppression and suppression’. JKNF chief said that the recent poll boycott should serve as a message to India and the world that the goal of every Kashmiri is nothing less than the right to self-determination.He said that the poll boycott has sent shivers and shock to Delhi and the state government and now they are frustrated to go to any extent against Kashmiri people. This is clear by the fact that the men in uniform have been given a free run to murder and mayhem,” he said.Extending his gratitude to people and particularly to youth for their exemplary sacrifices, Khan said, “People need to pursue the mission of freedom with same spirit and passion.”Terming the killing of eight unarmed protesters in Budgam and Ganderbal districts as ‘part of a well planed genocide of Kashmiri people’, Khan said, “Recent complete poll boycott of people has frustrated the Indian authorities to the extent that they can repeat the civilian killings anywhere in the disputed region as they have been doing since decades together.” (KNS)
