Anil Joshi Advocates Not To Extend Mbbs Course Duration

Anil Joshi, Medical Education and Research Minister, Punjab has appealed the Union Government not to extend the MBBS course duration from 5 years to 7 years. In a letter to the Union Government Mr. Joshi has asked the authorities to consider all the relating issues pertaining to students before taking such a decision? He apprehended that the extension of course duration could diminish the enthusiasm of the students in Medical profession.Joshi expressed fear that the students could lose charm for the noble medical profession. He said that there is every likely hood that the students can opt for foreign universities for getting medical degree avoiding the indigenous medical institutes.
