Deputy Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for organising Digi Dhan Mela in the district.During the meeting, DC directed RDD and social welfare department that are linked with the beneficiaries to install their respective stalls in the mela to educate people about various schemes and online transactions.Telecom companies were asked to strengthen their infrastructure in the district and provide good internet facilities to the users for successful implementation of Digi Dhan initiative.Speaking on the occasion, DC said that such initiatives help create awareness among the people and promote digital transactions.He further directed the bank officials to organize awareness camps in the district on 14-04-2017 to educate masses about digital and cashless transactions. Besides distribution of POS machines to the vendors, he emphasized upon the bankers to ensure the linking of Aadhars with bank accounts so that Aadhar Enabled Payment System can be operationalised.ADC Hanief Malik, Joint Director Education, Imam Din, ACR Tariq Naik, ACD Akhtar Qazi, XEN PDD, CMO, district officers, Bankers and telecommunication companies, and other concerned attended the meeting.
