Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, on Friday urged people to make election boycott a success.Favoring and supporting program of resistance camp, Syed Ali Geelani called for complete shut down on April 9 & 12, in poll bound constituencies and protest rallies from evening on April, 8 & onwards. In a statement issued to KNS, Geelani said that, on one hand state authorities are brutally killing people, hundreds of pro- freedoms leadership and activists are lodged in detention centers, people are facing flood like situations & despite all this they are busy to stage election drama.Referring to PDP, NC and other pro-Indian parties, Syed Ali Geelani said that they least care about people, instead are desperate to stage election drama and get into power corridors.It is encouraging, said Geelani and expressed his satisfaction over the resolution passed during Friday prayers and applauded people for their commitment and upholding their affiliation with movement as a mark of Tajdeed e Ahud. We are passing through crucial period, it is a trial and it is prerequisite to follow the mission with same spirit as was witnessed during people’s uprising in year 2016. Let us follow with same spirit, said Geelani or any wrong move or step will prove detrimental and prolong our freedom struggle.We have presented enormous sacrifices for ongoing freedom movement, each household and has contributed, said Geelani. Few people who vote in election dramas, were not only committing an act of treason, their actions were also acting as oxygen for the Indian occupation of Kashmir, he said. It tantamount to betrayal with the sacred blood of martyrs, said Geelani & any sort of participation would prolong our struggle for freedom, said Geelani.
Syed Ali Geelani said that my personal experience is that India is a fraud country & neither follow any ethics nor or true to their word .Whosoever participates in shame elections, provides an opportunity to Indian rulers to misleads international community .They are exploiting people of Jammu & Kashmir ,said Geelani but they should know that they won’t mislead us as we are fully aware about the follies they are playing .I know their tricks, said Geelani and their main aim is to grab power for their personal gains .Referring to recent statement of Farooq Abdullah wherein he expressed his ‘’good gesture” for youth and Hurriyat leadership, Geelani said that they are opportunists and it is just a mockery and deceit. National Conference is responsible for present turmoil, they deceived and backstabbed nation in 1996 while participating in sponsored elections, SOG is their creation and it was Farooq Abdullah who asked police to shoot youth as soon they are arrested.He is the man who supported and pleaded for Indian forces during Geneva Summit, said Geelani and we will never forget those 125-youth killed during National Conference regime. Blaming Farooq Abdullah for deceiving nation, Geelani said none other than Farooq Abdullah awarded and rewarded those police officers responsible for 2010 killings.It is irony that same Farooq Abdullah is seeking support to fight RSS and while as this party shared power in NDA regime.
Lashing at PDP, Geelani said that Ajit Dowel is master mind behind creation of PDP.
They exploited people’s sentiments while displaying their ‘’Qalam Dawat” and green banners, said Geelani. Late Mufti while addressing Mujahedeen asked that he is there to represent them and they need not to live in jungles, but later through well thought game plane all prominent commanders were assassinated by PDP, said Geelani.It was very common to see that these PDP men and their leaders were attending funerals of slain youth and shedding crocodile tears but now stand exposed, soon as they joined hands with BJP, said Geelani.Geelani said that similarly all other parties including congress, PP, Communists belong to same bread and their main aim is to strengthen occupation.Geelani in his fervent appeal asked people to take care of sacrifices and pious blood and boycott all these elections.Hurriyat spokesman said that Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Peer Saif Ullah, Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad shah, Raja Meraj Din Kalwal and Mohd Ashraf Laya continue to be under house arrest, while as Mohammad Yasin Malik is lodged in Central Jail.Spokesman said that hundreds of leaders & activists including Hakim Ab Rashid, Tashhoq Ahmad Bandey, Mohd Amin Ahangar, Mohd Yusuf Makroo, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, Bashir Ahmad Budgami, Omer Adil Dar & Javed Ahmad Gazi are lodged in different jails.
