While expressing concern over the continuous rains due to which the flood like situation has emerged in Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house, has appealed people to be calm but prepared in these testing times and make special supplications to almighty Allah during the Friday prayers tomorrow, for improvement in weather conditions to bring relief to the people. In a statement issued to KNS, Mirwaiz said that many places across the valley were inundated due to water logging and drainage overflow creating panic among the people whose memory of 2014 floods is very fresh in their minds. The severe problems and inconvenience caused to the people due to logging and inundation has added to the woes of the people who are already put to great inconvenience at the hands of the state authority focused on conducting sham elections to mislead people in India and the world rather than providing relief to them.Mirwaiz said that it is condemnable that educational institutions have been converted into garrisons for conduct of the election drama .Meanwhile the Hurriyat spokesman strongly condemned the police raid and search operation of the Hurriyat office at Rajbagh today morning and the harassment to the staff present there. The spokesman called it the desperation and Goonda raj of the police who are running a mock arresting and spreading fear among people rather than helping people in this time of crisis caused by the inclement weather.
