A Kashmiri freelance photographer, Engineer by profession, Saqib Majeed Wednesday won the 2016 Wisden–MCC Cricket Photograph of the Year competition.Saqib had clicked the picture in autumn last year in the month of October at Nishat garden in Srinagar.Notably, Saqib is the first Kashmiri and second Asian after Atul Kamble to receive the prestigious award.Saqib, the young Kashmiri freelance photographer informed KNS that the award of Rs one lakh sixty thousand has been announced for the picture.He said that his photograph was also included in the Melbourne Cricket Council’s (MCC) yearly published book titled ‘Wisden Cricketer Elimenec’.He also said that his photograph will be displayed at the Lords Cricket Ground throughout the year.
