Syed Ali Geelani expressed his shock over the fire incident in Awoora Kupwara and demanded probe into the incident in which residential houses and shops were gutted. Locals want to know the cause of the fire and terming the incident mysterious, Syed Ali Geelani said that many agencies are active in border area and their intention to destroy the economy in area is quite evident to all.In a statement issued to KNS, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his sympathy with the families whose houses and business establishment were engulfed in the fire incident & said that people want to know the cause of the fire, are doubtful and raising questions. There are so many queries that need explanation from concern quarters, as why the forces cordoned of the said area without any reason and why firefighting tenders were stopped, said Syed Ali Geelani. What people say is not unsupported and pointless, said Syed Ali Geelani and their resentment is vindicated till they get satisfactory explanation from concern quarters.
There are numerous evidences that various secretive means are being employed to create harassment and scare among people, said Geelani. These ill and evil designs are used to cripple our economy and since long our economy remained a prime target for them and look as if they are more active now, said Syed Ali Geelani.Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) said that upcoming elections are mere forces drill and a drama and lakh of forces personnel have been deployed to create scare and harassment among people. It is sheer vandalism while criticizing the state for deployment of forces in educational institutions. Hurriyat said that deploying forces in educational institutions is disregard for educations system and precious time of students is being wasted by authorities.In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (G) said that in South and central Kashmir extra contingent of forces have been deployed in these institutions.
Despite genuine objection raised by staff and students, armed personnel were stationed in these institutions, said Hurriyat.Hurriyat (G) spokesman in his statement said that it is shocking that these institutions were occupied by forces to stage election drama & they could have deployed forces somewhere other places, however were deliberately posted in these institutions.Hurriyat Conference (G) spokesman said that whenever we call shutdown in the interest of movement and to highlight atrocities and human issues, the same authorities raise hue and cry about future and career of students. However, it is quite frightening and their shameful act that they turn their blind eye to the issue & maintained their silence.Nothing is safe and our honor, life, economy education is not secure and nobody asks them or enquires about their bullying, said spokesman.
