Seeking time bound probe into mysterious fire incident which took place in Awoora resulting in damage of corers of property, legislator Langate Engineer Rasheed Tuesday sought immediate rehabilitation of the victims.Er Rasheed today visited Awoora to condole the victims and asked government to fulfil its duty towards the ill fated inhabitants. After visiting the place Er Rasheed in a statement said. “The apprehensions and claims of villagers pointing fingers towards army is a matter of great concern and needs to be investigated without any delay. The allegation of villagers that army in the afternoon forced villagers to shut down their shops and prohibited anyone from entering the market raises many serious questions. It can’t be a coincidence that as soon as army left the village fire broke out and fire services vehicles were stopped at Batergam and were not allowed to reach the village with the excuse that there is an encounter taking place which actually was not the case.”Er Rasheed asked army and civil administration to explain their position over this serious issue.

He paid an ex-gratia of Rs, 10,000 per family out of Joint Effort Trust (JET)  to those whose residential houses were fully damaged in the incident Er Rasheed also expressed deep concern over the consultations and exercises being on in hidden corridors of power in Jammu and Delhi to evacuate the Rohingya Muslims from Jammu. Er Rasheed said. “Rohingya Muslims are non state subjects and once the situation in their own country turns conducive, they have no option but to leave the state. Unless there is threat to their life and property in Burma, all international laws provide them complete protection and basic rights in any place in the world. Burmi Rohangiess are not seeking permanent citizenship like WP Refugees who after entering the state refused to leave and are seeking permanent citizenship right, which they don’t deserve.” Er Rasheed said that if the state and centre govt. is really worried about the issue of non state subjects residing in the state it must send back thousands of non state subject families living in Jammu and those residing in Kashmir by occupying state land in every nook and corner of valley and seem to be reside in for mysterious reasons.
