Deputy Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today called on the Union Minister for Finance and Defence Arun Jaitley and discussed the issue of development of road communication and infrastructure in the Border Areas of the state.The Dy Speaker also mentioned about the dilapidated condition of Bandipora- Gurez Road. He informed that it requires holistic approach to develop the road into an all-weather two way road to benefit locals and also to make it a strategic road under Defence Ministry.During his interaction, Deputy Speaker also apprised the Union Minister about the helicopter facility provided by Air Force to the patients of Gurez and Ladakh areas. He said the service has been stopped recently by the Ministry of Defence and needs to be restored to help people of these far flung areas during medical emergencies.The Deputy Speaker also discussed the issue of construction of tunnel connecting Gurez with rest of Kashmir Valley. He called for a revised survey for construction of the tunnel.
