District Police Kulgam Monday claimed that with the help of Army, it busted Hizbul Mujhadeen module.Addressing a Press Conference here in Kulgam, SSP Sridhar Patil said that police and 1st Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army received inputs that District .Commander of Hizbul Mujhadeen Altaf Dar alias Al-Kachroo and Towseef Sheikh alias Mossad have constituted a module of about dozen over-ground workers of the outfit with the task of carrying out attacks on government forces and snatch weapons. “A formal case was registered in this regard at Police Station Yaripora. During the course of investigation it came to fore that one Zubair Ahmed Badar of Nai Basti Qaimoh was the main kingpin of this module. Subsequently, Zubair along with one of his associates was arrested and during questioning it surfaced that module were in possession of arms and ammunition,” Patil said.
He said that during investigation it surfaces that the group had held several meetings and had even conducted recee of certain places along Srinagar-Jammu highway particularly in Bijbehara. “The members of the module who could have successfully achieved the target killings would have been made the active members of the outfit,” he said and added that the module was also tasked to attack police officers.“The module tried to carry out an attack in Bijbehara on 19th of this month but failed to materialize it. Before they could have made an attempt, the Government Forces busted the module,” he said and added that 6 more members of the module were also apprehended by police and arms and ammunition was recovered from them.SSP Kulgam according to CNS said that investigation has revealed some inter-group collaboration between militant organizations in Kulgam district as some of the ammunition has also been passed on to the District Commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit through this module by Hizbul Mujhadeen outfit. “The main motive behind this module was to enhance strength and weaponry and morale of militant organization.
