Incarcerated Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik was Thursday brought to Khybar hospital for medical checkups from Srinagar central jail Srinagar, the JKLF spokesman said.In a statement to KNS, the spokesman said that Malik has been unwell from last many days and is suffering from viral infection.“At Khebar hospital doctors took his blood samples for many tests and also a USG was done to ascertain the condition of his kidney stones,” he added. He said that as Yasin reached hospital many people gathered around him and asked about his health. “Women were seen praying for his health. After the medical checkups, he was shifted back to Srinagar central jail,” the statement reads.Talking to media people present on the occasion, JKLF chairman said, “Kashmir has been turned into a police state where even talking and breathing has been curbed by police.”He said that this rule of ‘hooliganism’ is being implemented in the name of democracy, which is highly ‘pitiful’.Malik said, “Today jails and police stations are filled with children and elderly. Anyone who talks of boycott is being rounded up and put in jail and height of shamelessness is such that today police even raided class rooms to arrest minor students.”

He said, “Those shameless and callous rulers and their police after caging down thousands and unleashing terror on people is talking of upholding democracy and peace and is asking people to cast votes and defeat those who ask for boycott, which is highly ridiculous.”JKLF Chief said that this ‘oppression’ has once again proved the fact that the rulers in India as well as in Kashmir and ‘occupational authorities’ cannot compete resistance camp on political grounds and they only know ‘unilateral violence and oppression’.“They have handcuffed one side and are providing every facility to another side which has actually proved the fact that these election dramas are nothing but mockery,” asserted Malik. He said, “Despite this state sponsored violence and oppression, people of Jammu Kashmir will never shun the path of resistance and this struggle will continue till the achievement of the sacred goal.”While appealing people of Jammu Kashmir to boycott upcoming elections, Malik said, “We all should stay away from Indian tactics and refrain from voting as this is detrimental to our sacred cause and sacrifices.” (KNS)
