Directorate of Agriculture Jammu convened one day Workshop on implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Programme for assistance in Agriculture Sector which was chaired by the Director Agriculture Jammu A. K. Malhotra here today.Inaugurating the workshop Mr Malhotra said that DBT Mode is to be adopted from 1st April 2017 and Initially the farmers with Aadhaar Number shall be covered, . He directed the Chief Agriculture Officers and Sub Divisional Agriculture Officers to conduct similar workshops in their respective districts and sub-divisions so as to sensitise the officers and concerned field functionaries to expedite the process of data compilation pertaining to Aadhar numbers. He also advised them to record the relevant data base of the farming families as per prescribed format by 31st March.A detailed presentation on the subject was made by R. K. Raina, Computer Programmer, Directorate of Agriculture Jammu. He said that data has to be uploaded on the DBT Portal http://dbtdacfw.gov.inthrough the district NIC. District Level Nodal Officers shall be nominated by each Chief Agriculture Officer for uploading the beneficiary details on the portal and also a nodal officer of the department will be responsible for the DBT portal at district level.Among others present in the workshop were Joint Director of Agriculture Inputs, Jammu, K. S. Sambyal, Joint Director of Agriculture, Extension, Jammu H. K. Razdan, Deputy Director of Agriculture Central, Jammu C. M. Sharma and Chief Agriculture Officers of all the districts.
