One more son of soil passes away in exile : Nayeem Ahmad Khan

Senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan has termed the co-founder of Al Fateh and founder chairman of Peoples League, Nazir Ahmad Wani, as a great revolutionary and visionary. Nazir Ahmad Wani passed away in exile in the United States on Friday after prolonged illness.Leading a party delegation, Nayeem Khan went to the ancestral residence of Nazir Ahmad in Hyderpora and paid rich and glowing tributes to the departed soul. He said that the deceased tried his best to wake up the nation in seventies and his efforts bear fruits later as his mission has become everybody’s aim in Kashmir now. Nayeem Khan said that Nazir Ahmad Wani had received revolutionary education from his father late Ghulam Rasool Wani of Tarabal Nawa Kadal who was exiled by then regime in 1957. Nazir Ahmad Wani followed his father’s footsteps and co-founded an armed group, Al Fateh, in late 60s.Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that people like Nazir Ahmad Wani live and die for a cause. He said that we all must admire the cause of late Nazir Ahmad which can be the only tribute to the great soul. He prayed for the departed soul. He pledged to take the mission of Nazir Ahmad Wani to its logical conclusion as the sacrifices rendered by the people like Nazir Ahmad Wani have made the movement very precious. (CNS)
