Khadi and Village Industry board (KVIB) organized mega awareness camp at Reasi to spread awareness on various schemes of the board for farmers and others.The board is responsible for implementing Prime Minister Employment generation Programme (PMEGP) and MUDHRA under Shishu category.District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar was chief guest on the occasion while as Additional Deputy Commissioner Babu Ram was guest of honour.Speaking on the occasion, DDC said all welfare schemes of various departments are being implemented with the motive to eradicate poverty from the society. He stressed upon the bankers and concerned officers to work in coordination for enhanced results.It was informed in the camp that during the current year over 18 units were established with the aid of KVIB in rural areas and many other cases of loan disbursement are in pipe line with banks.The participants were also explained about the technicalities of establishing village markets with respect to transparency and risk management mechanism in trades and settlement of transactions.Detailed information on the procedure and requisite documents needed for processing of loan cases was also disseminated through the lectures by the resource persons. It was further apprised that apart from Steel fabrication, Manufacturing of batteries, blanket weaving, bee keeping, printing press, stone crushers and Mobile and vehicles repairs works, large number of other trades and micro enterprises are being run through KVIB.Meanwhile lectures were also delivered on achievements and scope of the schemes in rural areas.Among others Dy. CEO KVIB Jammu Division Santosh Saraf, District Officer KVIB Qasim Mohd and bankers were present on the occasion.
