Mohali will be developed as an industrial hub and existing non-functional industries will be made functional again. Adequate efforts will be done for setting up new industries in the region so as to generate more employment opportunities. This was stated by Local M.L.A. Sr. Balbir Singh Sidhu while expressing gratitude towards public for their greetings. A huge gathering came at his residence to greet him.Sr. Sidhu said that congress party is committed for complete eradication of drugs from the state, so that, a healthy Punjab could be constituted from the beginning. As such, extra efforts will be done and concrete steps will be initiated under the immense leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Cap. Amrinder Singh. He said that drug peddlers will not be exempted at any cost. Present Govt. is going to take strict action against them and constituency SAS Nagar will be made completely free from drugs. During this he also said that to provide better health care facilities to the general public, a complete rejuvenation of Civil Hospital at Phase 6 & ESI Hospital will be carried out.
Basic infrastructure in these hospitals will be strengthened, so that public need not to move to PGI for better health care facilities.He said that special efforts will also be done in the field of education, so that level of basic education could be elevated and poor and needy children could avail elementary education at minimum cost. Sr. Sidhu said that SAS Nagar is known as the entry gate for the state, as such, each and every effort will be done for its beautification and SAS Nagar will be developed as a leading constituency in terms of development. He said that he will keep the promises made by him. Addressing the public, he said that he has respect for their sentiments due to which they have voted for him. He said that problems being faced by general public will be given priority and he will work dedicatedly to meet their expectations.He said that special plans will be formed and implemented for betterment of traffic in the city. In this regard, adequate arrangements will be ensured at Landra T- Point to facilitate normal traffic movement and to avoid jam. During this, Group of PCL (Punjab Communication Limited) workers, congratulated and demanded for continuation of industry. Sh. Sidhu assured them that the industry will remain functional. During this, Congress leader Harkesh Chand Machlikalan, Sh. G.S.Riar, S.D.Sharma & other reputed persons were present.
