He had said that if one could make paper out of the entire land, make pen out of the entire vegetation and ink out of the seven seas, even then it is not possible to write the glory of Lord Master. Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji was born on 23rd February, 1954 in Sant Nirankari Colony in Delhi. He was not just bestowed with abundant love by her Mother Kulwant Kaur ji and Father Baba Gurbachan Singh ji but also got groomed by the affection and fondness of Shehenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji (Grandfather) and Jagatmata Budhwanti Ji (Grandmother) His early education started at Rosary Public School at Radio Colony in Delhi and he completed is further school education at Yadvendra Public School, Patiala (Punjab). He went to Delhi University for higher education.A quiet and highly humble, Satguru Baba Ji was very popular among the youth. He adorned the uniform of Sant Nirankri Sewadal and contributed actively in organizing many activities related to holding of congregations.On 14th November, 1975, he was solemnly married to Pujya Sawinder Kaur Ji. On 24th April, 1980 his father Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji was wimpishly attacked by misled people and he gave his life for sake of humanity. This heart rendering incident changed the course of history of Nirankari Mission as well as of Satguru Baba Ji’s life.On 27th April, 1980 when Baba Hardev Singh Ji was incarnated as ‘Satguru’ his first directive to the devotees who were enraged over the killing of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji was donate blood instead of shedding blood. Under the guidance of H.H, the mission donated lakhs of unit of blood and became one of the leading contributors in the field of blood and became one of the leading contributors in the field of blood donation. He has left indelible imprints of his able guidance in the beautification of ‘Nirankari Sarovar’, construction of the ‘pine journey Museum’ and the ‘Fountain of Oneness’
Satguru provides bliss by bestowing priceless ‘God Knowledge’. In the words of Saint Kabir: “Guru Saman Daata Nahin Yachak Shishya Saman Teen Lok Ki Sampada, Sau Guru Deenho Daan”There is nothing more pious than ‘ Gyan’ (God Knowledge) itself. Even the most sinful are helped by Satguru to cross the sea of illusion with the help of ‘ Gyan’. Nobody can ever be as kind as ‘Satguru’. In Shrimad Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna asks Arjuna to see God in his true form through Him.Api Chaidaasi Paapebhya Sarvebhayah Paapkritmaah Sarv Gyan Plavenaiv Vrijinh Santrishaysi( Gita-4/36)Even if you are the greatest sinner, you shall be able to easily navigate through this illusionary ocean of sin with the boat of Gyan. Saints have forbidden to ask about the caste of the Satguru. Like it is the sword, not the cover that matters, similarly Satguru is above caste and creed with a pure human body and we should take shelter in him. Satguru is the vehicle for mortal men, to experience the Infinite Nirankar and feel blessed by perceiving the invisible. Since the outer appearance of Satguru is in the form of Sikh one cannot properly understand Satguru by considering him in just that form itself. On the third day of the 66th Annual Sant Samagam, Baba Ji exhorted everyone to rise above the differences of sect and creed and said that people often mistake our Mission to be a mission of only Punjabis. In fact Punjabis don’t count up to more than 20 percent and 80 percent non – Punjabis are the part of the Mission. This is a universal mission and belongs to all and is a beautiful bouquet of Oneness and unity. Saints have a beautiful vision for entire humanity.
Satguru Baba Ji is less talkative by nature. He takes minimal food but continually works to the maximum. For three-fourth part of the year, he is busy undertaking salvation tours. Although most part of these tours is undertaken by road, yet one cannot see any signs of tiredness on the face of His Holiness.
On the other hand, the devotees feel extremely energized after seeing blissful smile on the face of His Holiness. Satguru Baba ji is a strict vegetarian, eats only one or two loaves of bread, Vegetable, pulses, salad etc. Being alert about his health, Baba Ji is not just conscious about his food intake but also takes out time for daily walk. His life is an inspiration and guidance to others for simple living and high thinking, welfare of humanity and dedication towards Nirankar.On 16th November 2013 on the occasion of the “World Tolerance Day” announced by United Nations when preparations for Annual Nirankari Sant Samgam were going on, Satguru Baba ji gave inspiration to thousands of devotees present at Samagam Ground, to adopt tolerance. “In today’s scenario, love .compassion and tolerance are missing. People who are self-centred and narrow-minded are on the increase. Tolerance is lacking. Everyone must be tolerant. On the one hand, Satguru baba ji points towards depreciation of the virtue of tolerance and other human values, on the other hand, His Holiness also stresses on increasing these values in our lives. Satguru Baba ji has been inspiring everyone to imbibe the spirit of Oneness so that spirit of equanimity can be established. Be it the Nirankari International Samgam (NIS) held in United Kingdom in 2012 or any other Samgam. Satguru Baba Ji has been establishing the spirit of Oneness during all these samgams.It is 60th birthday of Baba Ji on February 23, 2014, (Guru Puja Diwas).
