Chairman of the Committee on Government Assurance of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Vikar Rasool Wani today called for establishment of trauma centres, deployment of emergency medical staff and Critical Care Ambulances along Jammu Srinagar National Highway round the clock to avoid human losses due to road accidents.Chairing a meeting of Committee on Government Assurances, convened to take stock of implementation of various directions given by the Committee to the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department during previous meetings, Mr Vikar asked the concerned to ensure Action Taken Reports of all Government Assurances pertaining to H&ME given by the Government on the floor of the House from time to time.Legislators, Deena Nath, Mohammed Abbas Wani and Deldan Namgyal also attended the meeting and gave their suggestions for making the working of committee result-oriented.

The Committee discussed various issues regarding the health infrastructure of the State and stressed for comprehensive policy to fill up the vacant posts of doctors and paramedical staff in hospitals across the State.The panel also stressed for deploying Critical Care Ambulances in every hospitals to avoid inconveniences to the patients particularly in fur flung and border areas of the State.The Chairmen directed the concerned to take innovative measures to improve health infrastructure of the state for providing better health facilities to the people of the state. He also stressed for taking measures for sanitation and cleaning in and around all the health institutions.Senior Officers of H&ME departments and Legislative Assembly were also present in the meeting.
