Inculcate moral values in children : Chaudhary Lal Singh to Teachers

The Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Chaudhary Lal Singh today stressed on the teachers to inculcate moral values in children.The Minister was speaking on the Annual Day function of a private school at Roop Nagar here. He was accompanied by the Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), R S Jamwal and Head of the Department Computer Science Jammu University, Vinod Sharma.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the moral values have degraded in the society mainly due to contemporary materialistic trends. He said the teachers are the torchbearers of the society and it is the duty of the teacher fraternity to bring positive change in the system of education and inculcate moral values in students.Reminding the teachers and parents of their role in nurturing the character of the students, the Minister stressed only their joint efforts can make Children better citizens of the country.

Mr Singh said that young generation can make their mark in the society due to hard work, honesty, dedication and above all due to preservation of  the moral ethics of rich heritage and values of our civilization which in itself has unique identity.Lal Singh maintained that the education is one of the focus areas of the government and a massive infrastructure is being upgraded in the state.He also appreciated the efforts of the school management in doing well in the field of academic as well as co-curricular activities.Principal of the School, Sona Jamwal in his welcome address highlighted the achievements of the school and the steps initiated to further improve the educational setup in the school.Later, the students presented a colorful cultural programme based on national integration, communal harmony and social evils.Minister also distributed the prizes of the various categories among the students. Among others who were present on the occasion included, Chairman of the School, Manish Pathania, staff and students of the School and their parents.
