Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S. P. Vaid today visited Police Hospital and took on spot stock of the working of Hospital. He was accompanied by team of senior officers from Police Headquarters.During his visit to Police Hospital, Dr. Vaid inspected various units of the Hospital including gynaecology, radiology, ENT, dental, pathology, operation theatre and laboratory. He enquired about the availability of diagnostic equipments, drugs in the Hospital and arrangements for emergency surgeries during odd hours.IGP (Technical), Mr. Sunil Kumar and Medical Superintendent, Dr. Wasiq Rasool briefed the DGP about the present status of medical facilities available, being provided to the police personnel and their families in the Hospital. He was told that health care and diagnostic facilities for the patients are available in the Hospital, besides some major surgeries are carried out by the doctors of the Hospital. He was also told that ambulance facility is provided for referral cases round the clock.
During the visit, DGP interacted with the patients and enquired their welfare. He asked to keep available life saving drugs and other facilities for the in patients. He stressed to ensure sanitation in and around the Hospital.DGP expressed hope that the able doctors of Police Hospitals would continue their efforts to make successes in the field of medical science. He said that their efforts would prove beneficial for police personnel and their families. He reiterated that the facilities in Police Hospitals of twin capital cities would be upgraded to provide more medical facilities to the jawans and officers and the families of martyrs.Dr. Vaid convened a meeting of officers and doctors of Hospital and discussed various measures to be taken for further improvements with introducing latest diagnostic equipments. Availability of drugs and building infrastructure, besides other administrative issues were also discussed in the meeting. He asked to prepare a detailed plan with regard to the requirements in order to enhance the efficiency of the Hospital.
Dr. Vaid appreciated the dedicated services of the doctors of hospital and said that health care of police personnel and their families is one of the major welfare schemes in Jammu and Kashmir Police. Two hospitals at Srinagar and Jammu are equipped with latest diagnostic facilities, besides better infrastructure. He said that modernization of Police Hospitals is a continuous process to enhance health care for the personnel and their families. Building infrastructure for these hospitals, besides diagnostic and surgical equipment, has been strengthened, said Dr. Vaid.Among others, the meeting was attended by IsGP, SL Sharma, JP Singh and Surinder Gupta, Director Prosecution, Pawan Gupta, AIsGP, JA Koul, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Mubassir Latifi, Kulbir Singh, Sr.ADO, Nasir Khan, DD(B), Munish Dutta, Exn.
