Chief Electoral Officer J&K, Mr Shantmanu represented India in the 7th Annual meeting of Election Management Bodies held in Georgia recently.The Election Commission of India was represented by Mr. Shantmanu, Principal Secretary Election Department J&K and Mr. Bhanwar Lal, Chief Electoral Officer Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.The representatives of 20 Election Management Bodies and 11 experts from International organizations shared success stories related to electoral techniques, adoption of European standards applicable to innovative services in electoral processes, electronic management of election administration, elections and transparency.The Central Election Commission of Georgia organized the meeting in coordination and support with the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).The two Indian delegates highlighted the innovative practices adopted by the election machinery in the country for Parliamentary / Assembly and other elections. The Milestones achieved by the Indian Election management Bodies were highly appreciated in the annual meeting.
