Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri celebrated National Science Day with the theme Science & Technology for Differently Abled Persons. Dr. Ritula Thakur of NITTR, Chandigarh and Dr. Deepika Sharma from Institute of Nano Science & Technology, Mohali were key note speaker at the moment. Dr. Ritula Thakur gave a presentation to the students depicting uses & applications of solar energy. Dr. Deepika told about various projects on which the staff & students could carry out their research activities.The students of CGC Jhanjeri also displayed their projects which are directly useful for all human beings, especially differently abled persons. Some of these projects include Solar Wheel Chair, Smart Wheel Chair, Automatic Screw Jack, Blind Stick, Specially Abled Road & Systems Future Automation for differently abled persons, Vision Stick, Vigor Androids APP and many more.
A large number of students presented technical papers on various topics like Technology for Differently Abled Persons, Vision Restoring brain in plants, Ultrasonic sensors for physically disabled persons, Four Ways Technology, Sibroke System, Colorful World, BATEYE,Electronic Travel Aid, See the World Differently, Inspiring Young India, How to help Disabled Persons, Mental Illness, Smart homes for specially abled persons, Barrier Free Structures etc.Dr. Deepika and Dr. Ritula Thakur honoured the winners of the projects Smart Wheel Chair, Vigor Androids App and Future Automation as first, second and third prizes respectively. Later, the papers presented on Indian Sign Language Gesture to Speech Conversion, Smart homes for specially abled persons& Motivation through Innovation and Akashbaani were awarded as the first, second (Tie) and third prize winners. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC, conveyed his best wishes to all the scientists & engineers of the country on this special day.
