Stone-pelting clashes between youth and government forces erupted in Old City and Sopore in Baramulla district after Friday prayers.According to GNS correspondent, scores of youth assembled at Nowhatta after Friday prayers and chanted pro-freedom, pro-Islam and anti-India slogans. The youths also raised slogans in favour of militant groups including ISIS. They also waved flags of ISIS, Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir.Reports informed that the youths later resorted to heavy stone-pelting on police and paramilitary CRPF who retaliated by firing tear smoke shells. Reports said that the clashes later spread to Rajouri Kadal and Saraf Kadal and police used pepper and teargas shells. The youths however were not relented by teargas and they continued pelting rocks on forces.Reports of clashes between youths and government forces were also received from Sopore Town after Friday prayers. Police used teargas shells to disperse the youth protesters who however continued pelting stones for many hours till evening, the reports added.(GNS).
