Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Choudhary Lal Singh today said that the current dispensation under Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, is aiming equitable development for all the regions of the State.The Minister who is on a whirlwind tour to Basohli constituency today inaugurated several roads, educational and other developmental projects, said that development in all the sectors bring prosperity to the people of all the regions of the State. “Government is working day and night to bring the State up on developmental map in the country,” he told the gathering at various places here. “We need the cooperation from the general masses to turn our dreams into the reality,” he said.Inaugurating three additional classrooms at Government High School, Forelain in Basohli, under SSA, the Minister said that human resource development is essential for turning Jammu and Kashmir into a prosperous State. He also inaugurated the playground at Baira. The Minister visited many other areas including Panchayt Forelaine, Brun, Basohli, Barnodi, Dhrosi, among others, where he listened to the grievances of the people and assured timely redressal from the Government.The Minister said education is vital and brings positive changes at the grassroots. 

“Education can only bring positive changesto our society and particularly into our State,” Singh told gathering at Pally, Basohli, where he laid the foundation stone of the boundary wall. He urged students to take inspiration from the noted personalities of the State who have achieved this repute with education and hard work. The Minister laid the foundation stone of the tractor road at Borthin Basohli and Panchayat Jakhore also got the tractor road.The Minister, on the occasion, directed the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, to compile the feasibility report for Lift Irrigation Scheme. He said that with more developmental vision of the Government, Basohli constituency would get its share.The Minister further said that Basohli has enormous tourism potential and for this Minister directed the Forest Department to develop huts, tourist guest houses at Sukrala Mata Shrine. He had earlier announced Rs 50 lakh for the development of the same. Singh said besides government’s efforts and initiates, people should come forward to reform their areas. He said that a collective community initiative of like-minded people, irrespective of caste, creed and political affiliations for overall self-development must gain the momentum across s the State. He also called prominent people of the area to impart skill training like spoken English to improve communication skills, various dance forms, music, self-defence courses to the educated youth. Singh also called upon youth to participate in sports activities wholeheartedly and bring laurels to the State. He said there is no dearth of talent among the youth of the state, adding that need of the hour is to channelize it in the right direction. The Minister was accompanied by all the heads of the department of Forest and its allied wings.
