National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with the District Administration organised a one-day sensitization workshop for bankers, line departments, and farmers in Budgam today.District Development Commissioner Budgam, who was chief guest on the occasion, enjoined the heads of various Banks and financial institutions to further improve credit- deposit ratio so that priority sector especially the weaker sections of the society get adequate financial support.He called for holding awareness camps in far flung rural areas of the district about various bank schemes aimed for the betterment of poor and weaker sections of the society.It was said that the objective of the workshop was formulation of credit linkage of Self Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups and its benefit to the rural populace. During the workshop participants were also sensitized about modern Dairy Development Practices under area development approach in rural areas to increase milk production for enhancing income of the farmers.
