Two days farmer-scientist interaction by Agriculture Department under Sub Mission on Agriculture Extension (SMAE) of National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology (NMAET) begins, here today.Scientists from KVK Doda, experts from Agriculture Department and NABARD interacted with farmers on various aspects related to agriculture, horticulture, mushroom cultivation, Kissan Credit Cards, Kissan Call Centres and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). Farmers raised various queries and onspot solutions were conveyed to the participants.District Agriculture Officer (Extension) M.A Beg briefed the meeting about various schemes. DDM NABARD Rajesh Badyal apprised the farmers about the schemes under NABARD and addressed their queries. Dr. A.S Charak scientist KVK Doda briefed the participants on the management of field crops and stressed upon adoption of recommended agronomic practices for raising production and productivity.Dr. Narinder Paul Scientist KVK Doda briefed the farmers about formation of farmer clubs and briefed about their management. He also made aware the participants about Kissan Call Centres, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and protection of plant varieties and farmers Rights Act (PPV&FRA).Agriculture Extension Officer, Udhampur Haroon Hussain briefed about the cultivation of Buttan and Dhingri mushroom and urged upon the participants to play a pivotal role in farmer led extension.
