Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today flagged-off 2-day exposure tour for sheep breeders of the district to acquaint them with latest technological interventions in Sheep Husbandry sector.During the exposure tour as many as 88 progressive sheep breeders will visit Sheep Breeding Farm Daksum Kokernag where they will be imparted latest know how of sheep breeding and rearing by experts of the field. The tour is organized by Sheep Husbandry Department Kulgam under centrally sponsored scheme ATMA.On the occasion, the DDC said that such tours will help the breeders to acquaint themselves with the latest technology and practices and asked them to make best use of the training programme.The DDC also said that requisite steps are underway to tap the potential of sheep breeding in the district and special focus is being given on generating awareness among youth to motivate them to adopt it as an economic activity.
