Even after the expiry of a month, the Power Development Department has neither installed a new transformer nor repaired the damaged one in local legislators village in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.Locals from Panchayat Mohalla Meemandar Shopian told news agency CNS that during snowfall the power transformer developed a snag and was shifted to Gagren Repairing Station a month back. They said that even after a month, the PDD has not repaired the damaged transformer.“Our repeated pleas have been going to deaf ears while the irony is that the local legislator who happens to be from the ruling party and from the same village is insensitive towards their problem,” the villagers said and urged Chief Engineer PDD to look into the matter.
