Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Hashmat Ali Yatoo today in a meeting reviewed the functioning of Department in Pulwama and Shopian districts.The meeting was attended by District Social Welfare Officer Pulwama, Mauzam Ali, District Information officer Pulwama, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo, Tehsil officers, social workers, craft teachers and other concerned.Mr. Yatoo took a detailed review about the functioning and achievements made under various welfare schemes including pension and social security schemes, marriage assistance, rehabilitation of militancy affected families and scholarship schemes being implemented in the district.The Director asked the officers to implement the flag ships schemes of government in letter and spirit and enjoined upon the officers to conduct awareness programmes at district and Tehsil levels so that people are made aware regarding the schemes being implemented through Social Welfare DepartmentLater, Yatoo inspected MFI Patalibagh, an Orphan home for boys where he took a detailed stock of the functioning of the Home and was apprised by DSWO Pulwama about the various issues confronting the inmates at home. He ensured that all genuine issues will be addressed on priority basis.Earlier, the Director reviewed the functioning of the Department of district Shopian where he was briefed by District Social Welfare Officer Showkat Ahmad Ganaie about implementation of various social welfare schemes. Yatoo also visited MFI Pinjoora, and orphan home to take first hand appraisal about its functioning.
