Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Choudhary Lal Singh today said Government is initiating various reformative measures to revamp the Forest Department and its allied wings.Speaking to Forest Graduate Unemployed Association at his residence here, the Minister appreciated the role of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti in considering the long pending demand of the hundreds of unemployed forest graduates, who have been given source of employment by the current dispensation. He said that creating Rehbar-e-Janglat in the Forest Department is a historical step which would bear the fruits soon.Meanwhile the forestry graduates expressed their pleasure over the Government’s move, saying that this would give a flip to the functioning of the Department. “We thank the Chief Minister and Forest Minster for this historical step,” they said. “Rehbar-e-Janglat scheme will definitely prove beneficial for the department.”  The Forestry graduates had been demanding government to take a final call on the Rehbar-e-Janglat scheme by which forestry graduates are to be absorbed on the pattern of Rehbar-e-Taleem and Rehbar-e-Zirat.

Later, the Minister also attended the annual day function of Rich Harvest Shastri Nagar Jammu held at police auditorium Jammu as chief guest. Addressing the gathering, the Minister congratulated the students for their achievements in different academic and co-curricular activities. He further appreciated the efforts of the teachers in bringing out their talent. He said that proving quality to the students should be the main focus of the School, urging upon the teaching faculty to play vital role in enlightening the society as well launch reformative initiatives at the individual level.Among others, the function was attended by former Minister, who is also Chairman Dogra Education Trust, Gulchain Singh Charak, Secretary SG Foundation, Gambir Dev Sigh Charak, Principal Rich Harvest, Rasvinder Kaur, besides students, writers, journalists and academics.
