Take up Aadhaar enrolment, seeding of students in mission mode: CS to DCs

Chief Secretary, B R Sharma Wednesday chaired a video conference with DCs to review the progress of Aadhaar enrolment of students and Aadhaar seeding of bank accounts of students receiving scholarships in the state.Principal Secretary, IT Department, R K Goyal, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Shaleen Kabra and other officers were present in the meeting.Out of over 24 lakh students in the state, Aadhaar enrolment of 16 Lakh students has already been completed.Similarly, out of the nearly 10,000 students receiving scholarships under National Scheme Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE) and National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS),   bank accounts of around 9000 students have been opened and 7000 such bank accounts have been seeded with Aadhaar.To complete Aadhaar enrolment of remaining 8 Lakh students, Chief Secretary urged DCs to complete the process in mission mode with special emphasis on Aadhaar seeding of bank accounts of students receiving Scholarships under NSIGSE and NMMSS.Instructions were also issued in regard to notifying a schedule for Aadhaar enrolment of remaining students by the concerned CEOs, so that the process is completed at the earliest.
