The District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today convened a meeting to review the convergence plan 2017-2018 of Rural Development Department at DC Office complex.The meeting held threadbare discussion on the proposed convergence plan of RDD 2017-18 and it was informed that under convergence mode, the RDD has executed 43 different works of Education department including walling & fencing of different school buildings, 3 works of each Animal Husbandry & Fisheries departments besides 4 play fields of DYSSO in the current financial year.Speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner said that in convergence schemes, the focus should be on developing infrastructure besides creating jobs for unemployed youth. He stressed upon the officers to focus on dovetailing in interdepartmental schemes for improved results.The District Development Commissioner directed the line departments to submit their convergence plan within 3 days so that the same would be submitted to higher-ups well in time. The officers were directed to identify the works to be done under convergence mode at an earliest.The meeting was attended by ACD, CEO, CMO, Xens of PDD, PHE and R&B, Chief Animal Husbandry officer, Chief Agriculture Officer and officers of Sericulture, Fisheries, DYSSO, IWMP, Irrigation & Flood Control departments.
