Badal’s audio recording of begging for votes exposes his desperation : Capt Amarinder Singh

Ridiculing Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for begging votes, as evident from an audio recording doing the rounds of the social media, Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said the Akali veteran should be ashamed of seeking votes in the name of his `laaj’ (respect/pride) after ruining the state and subjecting its people to extreme harassment and victimization.“Eddi laaj tey hun main utaranga,” Captain Amarinder declared at a public rally in Patiala Rural after playing the said audio recording exposing Badal’s desperation, amid loud cheers from the crowd.Badal has been forced to begging for votes as he knows his misdeed have completely alienated the people of Punjab, who were all set to throw him out by voting against him and his associates and henchmen.After looting the state and devastating its economy, agriculture and industry in order to promote his family businesses, Badal was now asking people to forgive him and vote for him, Captain Amarinder pointed out, adding that the chief minister’s actions were not worthy of forgiveness and he would have to pay for every sin and crime committed against Punjab.
 The PPCC president lashed out at Badal over the incidents of sacrilege in the state, saying he was sure of the Akali stalwart’s hand in these cases. Captain Amarinder promised to have every single case of religious desecration investigated and all the guilty, including Badal, thrown into jail.The Akali leadership, including the Badals and their kin Bikram Singh Majithia, had ruined the state’s future by destroying the youth with drugs, said Captain Amarinder, adding that none of them would be spared. While the government earns a mere Rs. 35 crore for sand mine auctions, the Badals mint money to the tune of Rs. 6000 crore, he pointed out, adding that the mafia rule of the Akalis would be completely wiped out by his government.He also lambasted the Akali government for victimizing thousands of innocent people by implicating them in false cases and promised to have all fake FIRs cancelled, with stringent punishment to those involved in the same.Referring to the collapse of agriculture and industry, the Punjab Congress chief said the policies of the Badal government did not favour the growth of either.
Industries had been pushed out of the state by the Akalis, who only wanted to promote their own businesses, said Captain Amarinder, lambasting the Badals for plunging Punjab into ruin, forcing farmers to commit suicide and industries to flee the state, to further their own interests. On his last leg of campaigning, Captain Amarinder, while citing the total devastation of the state at the hands of the corrupt Badals, appealed to the people to vote for an experienced and stable government to revive Punjab’s lost glory and secure their children’s future.Punjab is the family of Punjabis and needs a government of Punjabis not Haryanvis, said Captain Amarinder, adding that a Haryanvi like Arvind Kejriwal, with his extreme left and right ideological mix, could not be expected to stand for the state or its rights. With all Punjab’s major disputes, including SYL, with Haryana, Kejriwal would never be able to protect the right of our people, he added.Captain Amarinder exhorted the people to vote for Congress candidate Brahm Mohindra in Patiala Rural and Hary Mann in Sanour to secure their future and that of their children.
